Another perfect week last week with all three tips getting up and returning a nice profit. That makes our last losing weekend over two months ago. This week we’re faced with some season defining clashes in both codes. Let’s start with the AFL…
The Alpha’s Top Tips
- Port Adelaide win into North Melbourne win @ $1.86
- Richmond win @ $1.80
- Double: Warriors win into Bulldogs win @ $1.79
Bet of the week is Port Adelaide away to Essendon tomorrow. They’ve firmed from $1.50 to $1.38 during the week but it’s still enough to take. Even a small drop in effort from the spectacular Showdown last week will see them get the points here. Wingard was close to his best following the ball for most of the game and Robbie Gray was back to his usual evasive and efficient self. They’ll step up here along with their other stars. Power by a comfortable margin.
Next best tip North Melbourne but the longer odds of Richmond look far more attractive. They host a Fremantle side whose form has long slipped from that which bagged them the bulk of their 13 wins earlier in the season. The Dockers have lost Ballantyne whose influence – whilst recently smaller (pardon the pun) – will certainly be missed. The Tigers have enough class, and it’s no secret that class turns up for bigger games like this more often than it does for the minnows. It might be close, but Richmond are better than a $1.80 chance for this. Get on.
It’s not the greatest betting weekend for League but we’ll try and find some value. With DCE out the Warriors should be good things at home. They’re in a volatile 7th spot and can’t afford to drop points at home if they have finals aspirations. Roll that into the Dogs to win at their spiritual home of Belmore. They were gallant there against Melbourne in June and the occasion should once again bring out their best footy. A recent resurgence in Cronulla’s inconsistent form won’t be enough to do the job here. Doggies to get home by at least a converted try.
